The History of our Bricks & Mortar Shop

Myrtle's Home Furnishings, our bricks & mortar shop, is based in the village of Enderby just off junction 21 of the M1. We are supported by British and International Companies, all with similar core values to ours giving us the confidence in our products and what we do.

Why the name Myrtle’s? The name derives from the myrtle flower, a simple yet unusual and rare flower with many varieties and colours. The Myrtle flower has been and still is the flower of choice for royal bride bouquets since the 1850s. Knowing this gave us further inspiration and impetus to search for unusual, unique, high-quality goods for our customers. The flower was also included in the late Queen Elizabeth II final wreath chosen by King Charles III.

Why Enderby? A question we were frequently asked in the beginning Why not? Was always our answer. It is our home village, and the shop was formerly the Estate Agents from whom we purchased our current home many years ago.

Myrtle's Home Furnishings' ambition. Wherever possible we do our upmost to search for sustainably sourced products, offering the very best value and customer service. Whether large or small piece, a Mertie's & Gertie's No "NonScents" candle, wall art or even a British made-to-order sofa, a visit to the shop is a must to fully appreciate what is on offer and can also be viewed at www.myrtleshomefurnishings.co.uk
